Philosophy
We started farming because we wanted to be closer to our food's origins. If you want to eat better and strengthen your local economy, learning about where your food comes from is a good way to start.
We engage in natural and healthy farming practices. Farming should not be hidden from public view. We will set up farm visitations for you to meet farmers, see operations and ask questions.
All of our animals are raised on pasture. Our chickens receive a grain supplement that is balanced with biologically-available minerals. Our cows are rotated frequently for optimal animal and soil health. Our animals never receive hormones or antibiotics, and our farms are free of harmful chemicals. Pasturing animals leads to healthier meat for human consumption - more nutrients and a better fatty acid profile.
By buying our pastured products, you are supporting local farmers and investing in a better food system. You are supporting a style of farming that rebuilds topsoil, reduces the use of fossil fuels, and encourages carbon sequestration through the grasses in our perennial pastures.
