We are Brooks Miller and Anna Santini, and we are passionate about farming and good food. We started farming together in 2007, and in the beginning, we were mainly about growing and making things that we wanted to eat.
Neither of us grew up on farms - we both grew up in the suburbs and studied engineering at Penn State.
Brooks became disillusioned with his focus of aerospace engineering when he realized he couldn't physically sit at a desk all day long or in good conscience work on projects for military applications.
Anna worked on various small organic vegetable farms and dairies around PA through college, while overcoming health problems of her own that inspired her to learn about and produce high quality nutritious foods.
We care deeply about land and health, and we see pasture farming as our form of environmental and social activism. Our farm's foundational principle is the same as that of one of Anna's previous employers, the Rodale Institute:
We are grateful to be growing food and children here on our 84 acre farm in Perry County, PA.
